Public Comment Notice 

The ACHD Board of Health approved a 45-day public comment period that begins on Thursday, July 25, 2024 and concludes at 11:59pm on September 8th. Comments can be sent by email to PublicHealthComment@AlleghenyCounty.us or by mail to our administrative offices:

A public hearing for this regulation has been scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 5:00 pm at the following location:

Persons wishing to speak at the hearing must register using the ACHD’s Public Hearing Participation Form – Allegheny County, PA no less than 24 hours in advance of the hearing. Testimony is limited to 3 minutes.

The proposed revisions to Article III would:

  • Adopt select standards from the 2022 Model Food Code Update
  • Align Article III with updates to the Allegheny County Plumbing Code (Article XV)
  • Incorporate administrative changes related to temporary and seasonal permitting and add definitions to promote understanding of commonly used terms by the Food Safety Program
  • Other minor changes that address typographical errors and changes to improve clarity and readability of Article III
