From guided nature walks and wildlife photography, there's something for everyone to do. Explore the trails, learn about local flora and fauna, and more at environmental and nature centers at Harrison Hills and North Park

Sporting

Hometown Hoops – Basketball mini-camps for children 9 to 18 years of age.

Learn to Swim – Classes for ages 5 and older at Boyce, Settlers Cabin, North and South Parks.

Marbles Program – Classes and a championship competition for youths age 14 and under.

  • LL Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools – Instructor-led activities: kayaking, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, fly-fishing, archery, and more
  • Trail Pittsburgh – Volunteer opportunities to help create, enhance, and preserve nature trails in Southwestern Pennsylvania
  • Rachel Carson Trails Conservatory – Volunteer-based organization dedicated to the development, protection, and promotion of hiking, biking, and walking trails throughout Western Pennsylvania

  • Park Pass Program – Free season passes for active volunteer firefighters and active volunteer emergency medical technicians
