Fishing at North Park Lake

Explore the serene and picturesque fishing spots throughout the Allegheny County Parks system. Allegheny County offers several beautiful lakes with ADA accessible piers for recreational fishing of all skill levels, from novices casting their first line to avid anglers.

The Lakes at Deer Lakes Park

Deer Lakes Park features three separate lakes - Upper, Middle, and Lower - which are both manmade and spring-fed. State fisheries stock the lakes with small fish such as bluegill, crappie, perch, sunfish, and trout. There are also a few prominent larger fish, including catfish and bass.

The Lake at North Park

The Lake at North Park spans 65 acres, populated by a variety of fish and wildlife. Visit the Latodomi Nature Center to learn more about the fish found in North Park Lake. The lake at North Park also served as the host location for the inaugural Fishing Derby in fall 2023 presented by the Allegheny County Veterans Services department.
