PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that work on Vilsack Road in Shaler has been completed, and the associated traffic restrictions have ended earlier than expected. The restrictions, which began on April 22, included a one-week full closure and periodic lane closures. They were required for milling and paving, base repairs, drainage improvements, shoulder work, and guide rail replacement.

Vilsack Road is used by an average of 12,774 drivers daily.

The project was done by A. Folino Construction, Inc., of Oakmont as part of a $5.6 million contract that includes work on eight other roads.
