Cliff Mine Road in North Fayette Reopens to Traffic

PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that Cliff Mine Road between Woodcrest Drive and Pine Lane in North Fayette has reopened to traffic. The closure, which began on March 25, 2024, was required for replacement of Montour Run Bridge No. 15. The project also included new pavement, rumble strips, pavement markers and markings, signage, and guide rail as well as removal of gravel and sediment from Montour Run.

Montour Run Bridge No. 15 carries an average of 3,704 vehicles daily. The bridge that was replaced had a condition rating of 3 (poor) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) established by the Federal Highway Administration. The project was done by Pugliano Construction Company, Inc., of Plum as part of a $2.6 million contract that also includes work on six other bridges.
