Published on January 12, 2024
PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that work on Braddock Road in Forest Hills and Wilkins Avenue in Braddock Hills has been completed. It included milling and paving, base repairs, construction of a roadway support structure, drainage improvements, shoulder work, and guide rail replacement.
The project began on August 28, 2023. It required periodic single-lane closures on Braddock Road between Ardmore Boulevard (Route 30) and Brinton Road and on Wilkins Avenue between Brinton Road and Woodstock Avenue/Hawkins Avenue. It also required a two-month full closure of Wilkins Avenue between Cross Street and Garfield Avenue.
The work was done by Mele & Mele & Sons, Inc., of Rankin as part of a $7.6 million contract that included work on three other roads.
