State of the Art Autopsy Facility
New facility in 2009, includes an in-house histology laboratory, Lodox ™ full-body, high-speed X-ray imaging device, dedicated rooms for brain dissection and special (decomposed or infectious) autopsy. The autopsy facility is staffed by experienced full-time histology-autopsy technicians.
Resourceful Educational Facility
Four weeks of the fellowship program is dedicated to training in the following in-house departments:
- Firearms laboratory
- Toxicology laboratory
- DNA laboratory
- Forensic drug chemistry laboratory
- Trace materials laboratory
- Fingerprint laboratory

Abundant Research Opportunities
Wide Variety of Cases
Fellow to perform 200-250 autopsies out of approximately 1700 cases at the medical examiner’s office, acquiring experience with cases such as gunshot wound homicides, stabbings, bones cases, babies, etc.
Experienced Staff
Over 100 years combined experience in forensic pathology, each attending representing a different heritage of training and unique outlook.
Excellent Compensation
$75, 000 plus benefits in a location with a low cost of living (2-bedroom fair market rent: $884)
Multiple Educational Experiences
Twenty scheduled lectures, attendance at a national conference, optional involvement in multiple other conferences, in house brain cutting by neuropathologists, on call odontologist, entomologist and anthropologist
