Training
The Allegheny County Emergency Management Division provides a wide variety of training options for a multitude of people dedicated to public safety. The Training Schedule (above) includes information about the current training options.
Additionally, the Allegheny County Emergency Management Division may provide remote delivery of training courses at an organization’s facility. There are requirements for delivery and conducting the course is subject to the availability of instructional staff. If your organization is interested, please fill out and submit the ACES-EMA Course Request Form(PDF, 115KB).
Outreach Training & Coordination
We also coordinate with government and community groups involved in emergency preparedness.
Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC) and Citizen Corps Council (CCC) - LEPC/CCC meetings are open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.
Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) - A community-based training program offered to municipalities, schools, scouts, business and industry, and non-profits, including community and faith-based organizations.
Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) - A humanitarian association of independent voluntary organizations who may be active in all phases of disaster; guided by the core principles of cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration.
