Seasonal Ranger Positions

Park Rangers perform duties throughout all nine Allegheny County Parks and are the ambassadors of parks and the catalyst for stewardship among visitors. The Rangers offer educational and interpretive programming as well as outreach programming to local schools and communities. They also provide park visitors with orientation and information while ensuring park regulations are being followed. The Allegheny County Park Rangers represent the ideas of conservation and stewardship of the natural, cultural, and recreational resources.

Join the Rangers team and explore the beauty and natural wonders of the Allegheny County Parks. Seasonal Park Rangers play a critical role in the operations of the Allegheny County Parks, with responsibilities including:

  • Developing and presenting programs including scheduled park activities, special events, and outreach programs
  • Learning natural, cultural and recreation resources within the parks
  • Providing information and answering questions from visitors about park resources, facilities and directions, environmental features and history of county parks
  • Patrolling parks and explaining park rules and regulations to the public
  • Assisting with outreach programs that include natural, cultural and recreational resource-based topics
  • Learning and implementing natural resource management skills like tree planting, trail construction, and invasive species removal
