"I Voted" Sticker Contest

Allegheny County Elections Division challenges all students grades 9-12 residing in Allegheny County to design a new “I Voted” sticker for the 2025 Elections. These newly designed stickers can help engage students in the democratic process while encouraging creativity. The winner of the contest will be announced at the end of January 2025.

Round One - All submissions will be reviewed and judged by the Elections “I Voted” Sticker Committee, who will then select 10 final designs.

Round Two - The public will have the opportunity to choose their favorite sticker from the 10 pre-selected options.

Contest Rules and Eligibility

  1. The contest is open to all public, private, charter, and home-schooled students residing in Allegheny County, enrolled in grades 9-12.
  2. All entries must be submitted electronically no later than December 20, 2024 at 11:59 pm. Late entries will not be accepted.
  3. Each entry must be submitted individually by completing the Sticker Design Contest Form. A parent or guardian must sign the form if the student is aged 17 and under.

Design Rules and Recommended Programs

  • Design must contain the phrase “I Voted” on a 2-inch circular design.
  • Design must be the student’s original artwork and contain no copyright images or trademarks.
  • Artwork must be nonpartisan, nonpolitical, and not reference or advocate for a party, candidate, or issue.
  • Artwork must not include anything obscene or inappropriate for general audiences.
  • Artwork does not feature the likeness of an individual.
  • Artwork should be saved as a high-resolution PDF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, PSD, or Ai file with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. If using Adobe, design should have all fonts outlined and images embedded within the document.
  • Design should be saved in CYMK color mode for optimal printing.

How to Enter

Entries to the contest will close on December 20, 2024 at 11:59 pm. Late entries will not be accepted. Submissions must be submitted digitally via the Sticker Design Contest Form as a high-resolution PDF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, PSD, or Ai file. For best printing, files should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Multiple entries are permitted. All submissions from students aged 17 and under must include a signed release form from a parent/guardian.

Public Voting

The public voting period will begin Monday, January 6, 2025, and will end on Monday, January 27, 2025. Members of the public may vote for their sticker of choice amongst the selected finalists. Each person will be permitted to vote only once. The design that receives the most votes during the voting period will be the winner. The winning sticker will be given to voters in the Primary and General elections in 2025.

Finalists are encouraged to spread the word about the contest and ask friends, family, and classmates to participate in voting. Activity that appears to be fraudulent, unfair, or unethical is not permitted and may result in the removal of a design entry.

Other Terms and Conditions

  • By submitting a design entry, participants agree and consent to the use of their design, first name, school name, and photograph by the county and its affiliates in media and advertising. 
  • Once an entry is submitted, all artwork elements belong entirely and exclusively to the county, so that its licensees and assigns may duplicate, distribute, broadcast, exhibit, or otherwise use the contest without limitation or restriction throughout the universe in perpetuity.
  • By entering the contest, the participant grants to Allegheny County, a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to the artwork submitted without compensation to the participant at any time for the use and reproduction of the artwork. 
  • All entries are subject to verification of eligibility by Allegheny County.
