Melanie started working for Allegheny County in June 2024. 

Previously, she served under three Mayoral administrations at the City of Pittsburgh. During her tenure, she worked in the Mayor's Office, Finance Department and Office of Management and Budget in various roles related to or involving grant funded projects. Her most recent role was Grants Manager, where she spent the last decade centralizing and streamlining the city's grant-seeking and management efforts. Her team's portfolio included well over 250 successful grant applications and millions of dollars secured to support city projects. 

She has a master's degree in public policy from Duquesne University. 

Melanie also holds a certificate from the American Council on Exercise and enjoys teaching fitness classes in her free time. She lives in the City's Brookline neighborhood with her husband and son as well as a menagerie of animals including too many cats, a dog, and several backyard hens.
