Part of Abers Creek Road in Monroeville to Close Starting on October 8

The Department of Public Works announced today that part of Abers Creek Road near Cavitt Road in Monroeville will close starting at 9 am on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The closure is expected to end in November. It is required for beam and barrier repairs to Aber Creek Bridge No. 3.

The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted permits to P3R and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) to close the Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for upcoming events.

Universal Road in Penn Hills Reopens to Traffic

The Department of Public Works announced today that Universal Road near Hershey Road in Penn Hills has reopened to traffic earlier than expected. The closure, which began on July 13, 2026, was required for work on Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad Bridge No. 1, which carries Universal Road over Union Railroad tracks.

Traveling Glass Recycling

September 27, 2026

Glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled for reuse endlessly without losing any quality! The traveling glass bin will be at each location for nearly a month, available daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All colors of glass are accepted; containers must be empty; caps, lids, and labels are okay.
